Terms
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the River Road Horsemanship website and services. By booking a lesson, purchasing a lesson pack, enrolling in a program, or creating an account, you agree to the terms below. Last updated September 2026.
Who these terms bind
These terms are an agreement between you and River Road Horsemanship. If you book on behalf of a rider under 18, you are agreeing on the rider's behalf as their parent or legal guardian.
What we offer
We provide English riding instruction, horsemanship education, camps, and events at our Medford, Oregon location. Services available for booking through this site include:
- Introduction lessons for new riders.
- Single private lessons (30, 60, or 90 minutes) for returning riders.
- Prepaid lesson packs.
- Program memberships that include a weekly private lesson and the Saturday Horsemanship class.
- Seasonal camps and events.
We may change or discontinue any of these offerings at any time.
Your account
To book most services you create an account. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for activity that happens under your account. Provide accurate rider information — including date of birth, weight, experience level, and any medical notes that affect safe instruction — and keep it up to date.
Booking a lesson
Bookings are confirmed only after payment is completed and the instructor has assigned a horse. Requesting a lesson does not by itself guarantee the time slot. We reserve the right to decline any booking or ask a rider to reschedule if the requested time, horse availability, or rider fitness for the level make it unsafe.
Payment
Prices are posted on the site and may be updated from time to time. You will be charged the price displayed at the moment you book. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your full card number. Membership subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Failed subscription payments follow Stripe's retry schedule; if retries fail, the membership may pause or cancel.
Cancellations and refunds
The current cancellation policy is shown on the booking form and included in every confirmation email. Cancellations outside the cancellation window are auto-processed as a refund to the original payment method or as an account credit; cancellations inside the window are reviewed by the instructor. Prepaid lesson packs expire twelve months from purchase and any unused lessons are forfeit at expiration.
Assumption of risk
Horseback riding is an inherently risky activity. Horses can behave unpredictably. You acknowledge and voluntarily accept the risk of injury, property loss, and death that comes with riding, handling, or being near horses. Before your first lesson you or your legal guardian must sign our liability waiver; the terms of that waiver are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Rider responsibilities
You agree to:
- Arrive on time and appropriately dressed (closed-toe boots with a low heel, long pants, a certified riding helmet).
- Follow all instructions from the instructor at all times.
- Disclose any health condition, injury, medication, or change in fitness that could affect safe riding.
- Not consume alcohol or intoxicants before or during a lesson.
- Treat horses, staff, and other riders with respect.
We may end a lesson at any time without refund for unsafe conduct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Oregon law, River Road Horsemanship and its owners, instructors, employees, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the site or participation in any lesson, program, or event. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending your account
You may delete your account at any time from the portal Settings page. Rider profile and contact information are removed; historical booking, payment, and waiver records are retained for our own business and legal records. We may suspend or end an account that violates these Terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update. Continued use of the site or services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Jackson County, Oregon.
